Recently the stories of Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson's domestic abuse have been big in the news. The way the NFL has handled the situation has made me wonder if this sort of thing has happened in the past and why no one has heard about it it. I think that for some reasons pro athletes are held to a lower standard. They are getting special treatment and they shouldn't be. Athletes should be held to the same if not a higher standard as everybody else. Pro athletes should not be given special treatment and the ones that break the law should be punished.
